Baptism of children 7 years old and older
In order to follow the Catholic Church’s general guidelines regarding the established age of reason and to verify the intention to prepare and carry out the duties of Christianity, any child seven years old not yet in the 7th grade will be prepared for Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Children in 7th thru 12th grade will be prepared for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. This and all sacramental preparation requires at least two years of continuous Religion Education, as well as weekly attendance to the Sunday (or vigil) Liturgy (Mass).
First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
For children in 1st thru 5th grade that have already received the Sacrament of Baptism. This and all sacramental preparation requires two years of continuous Religion Education, as well as weekly attendance to the Sunday (or vigil) Liturgy (Mass).
After First Holy Communion
Children that have already received their First Holy Communion and are not yet in the 7th grade may continue growing in their faith by learning about God's love through Jesus teachings by learning to live the faith and more. Children in these groups are in 3rd thru 6th grade.
First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation
Children in 7th thru 12th grade that have received the Sacrament of Baptism will be prepared to receive First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. If you’re unsure if your child’s baptism from another Christian denomination is valid, please bring a copy to the office.
This and all sacramental preparation requires at least two years of continuous Religion Education, as well as weekly attendance to the Sunday (or vigil) Liturgy (Mass).
Confirmation
For children in 7th thru 12th grade that have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. This and all sacramental preparation requires two years of continuous Religion Education, as well as weekly attendance to the Sunday (or vigil) Liturgy (Mass).
Special Needs
Children with special needs bring wonderful God given gifts to our parish. We welcome and do our best to offer support to our special needs children and their parents. We also make every effort possible to provide the appropriate accommodations necessary for a special needs child. When possible the child is given one on one instruction within the classroom setting appropriate to the child’s grade level.
You may also contact St. Jude Chapel for tailored classes for children with special needs. Siblings of special needs students are welcome into the program. This is a stress free environment with small classes. St. Jude has over 30 years serving the deaf and disabled community. Below is the contact information:
